Duplex 2205 round bar providers have advised against using this alloy grade at temperatures higher than 600° F. Long-term usage or exposure to temperatures exceeding 600° F can cause this round bar grade by ASTM A276 to become brittle. ASTM A276 is a specification standard that covers Astm A276 2205 Rolled Bar. Hot-finished or cold-finished bars, except those intended for reforging, are included in this standard for produced Astm A276 Duplex Steel Rod. This standard includes several shapes, including circles, squares, hexagons, and Duplex Steel 2205 Hex Bar.
S32205 Bar’s heterogeneous microstructure comprises 40% and 50% ferrite in its annealed state. This grade of round bars has various diameters depending on those specifications. Sizes range from 6 to 120 millimeters. Diameter options go from 6mm to 350mm. The round bars are available in lengths between 100mm and 6000mm. The finishes might be matte, brilliant, rough-turned, or black. The ASTM A276 specification for 2205 duplex stainless steel round bars allows various delivery methods, including annealing, strain hardening, and hardening and tempering. It can be successfully welded. These round bars have a melting point of 1420 degrees Celsius, making them solid. The flanges comply with ASTM A182 for high and high temperatures applications. Duplex steel is welded to preserve the base metal’s corrosion resistance, hardness, and strength in both the weld metal and the heat-affected zone. Although welding is not difficult, it is important to design welding processes so that they result in a good phase balance after welding and prevent the precipitation of harmful intermetallic or nonmetallic phases. Some applications contain larger amounts of hydrochloric acid and other chlorine-based chemicals, which degrade any standard steel grade. Some of the industries that employ these duplex steel-grade round bars are offshore oil drilling businesses, aviation exhaust manifolds, petrochemicals, electricity production, gas processing, pharmaceuticals, specialized chemicals, pharmaceutical machinery, heat transfer, and saltwater equipment.
